Kenton Commons & NE Portland's Preference Policy

As part of Habitat for Humanity’s work with the city’s preference policy, a tool that helps address the harmful impacts of racist housing policies, Habitat built 30 new homes along Interstate Avenue in North Portland’s Kenton neighborhood. These affordable homes will bring stability to families who have generational ties to North and Northeast Portland and combat displacement.

Defying the odds | Eman’s Story

After paying half of her income on rent, Eman partnered with Habitat for Humanity to make her dream of owning her own home a reality. Despite battling cancer and moving away from her home country of Kuwait, Eman still finds the time to serve her community.

A critical repair and peace of mind | Brian’s Home Repair Story

With increasing mobility issues, Brian needed a way to access his home safely. He teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to build a ramp between his driveway and front door. In addition, Habitat conducted several other repairs that cut his electricity bill in half. Today, he has a safer, more accessible home and peace of mind.
